Car manufacturers are like any other company that thrives in a competitive market. Each group involved has something to offer, and the pressure to undercut or outperform one another is never-ending. Hyundai is no exception to this aggressive game, case in point; the 2021 Palisade Calligraphy. While not considered one of the heavyweights in terms of manufacturing SUVs, Hyundai has brought something unique to the table—an amalgamation of style and comfort that’s bound to start turning heads.
The Palisade is still a relatively new model, as it was first introduced in 2020. The 2021 update is a vast improvement in every sense of the word. Some buyers described the 2020 Palisade as “smelling terrible” and notable for having a windshield that would break easily. Hyundai seems to have addressed these concerns and improved upon their previous design. Currently rated 9.5/10 by Car and Driver, Hyundai has also earned a reputation with their dedication to safety, earning the same high marks that the 2020 version received.
Aside from its high safety ratings, the Palisade’s winning attributes are style and storage capability. Like many SUVs in the third-row class, the Palisade offers plenty of storage for those long road trips. For those who like their vehicle to be an extension of their finesse, the Palisade also offers a unique look that sets it apart from some of the others. The Calligraphy line offers a suave, stylish interior that you’d normally find in luxury automobiles. If you must drive over the river and through the woods to arrive at your grandmother’s house...you should at least be comfortable and look good while doing so.

While style and safety are the Palisades crowning features, its performance is standard. Like so many other SUVs, it has a towing capability of 5,000 lbs. and boasts an engine capable of 291 HP. As is the case with many SUVs currently on the market, it gets around 19-26 mpg. In the coming years, we’ll more than likely see more EV hybrid models on the road, and if Hyundai can keep up with the tide of changes in the automotive industry, imagine future editions of the Palisade to become a hot commodity.
