2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6

A new form of electricity

Miles ahead

For Hyundai, the 2023 model year is one where ambition is limitless, and the prospect of them outdoing every manufacturer in terms of their offerings is a distinct possibility. For the past few years, Tesla has worn the crown as king of the EV world. However, this year, it's in danger of being usurped by the all-new 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6. Underbidding many of the giants of the EV market, including BMW, Polestar, and the aforementioned Tesla. A stylish stride towards EV perfection, 2023 is easily the year of Hyundai.

Performance That Goes Electric

The fully eclectic powertrain of the Ioniq 6 comes in two distinctive forms, both of which are far ahead of many of its rivals. The base version generates 225 ponies of horsepower and limits its power to the rear wheels. For those who are somewhat more adventurous with their driving, a dual-motor setup that's capable of 320 horsepower is available and provides power to all four wheels; AWD has never been more exciting until now. And with the ability to travel from 0-60 MPH in a mere 5.1 seconds, it's hard not to be impressed by Hyundai's effort. At the time of this article, EPA testing has not been undertaken to determine the range that the Ioniq 6 will travel on a full charge, though Hyundai claims it to be anywhere from 310 to 340 miles.

Interior & Coverage

While the interior of the Ioniq 6 bears a slight resemblance to the 5 model, which debuted during the 2022 model year, there are some slight differences in the aesthetic it manages to harness. Like the Ioniq 5, it boasts two screens that serve as the instrumentation and infotainment access. However, we couldn't help but feel the seating arrangements are much more in line with something we might have seen from Audi or BMW several years ago. The Ioniq 6 manages to capture a truly retro feel and bring it into the 21st century, and it will certainly appeal to a variety of drivers.  As with the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 features industry-leading warranty coverage that breaks the mold in terms of offering more. Not only is the battery and powertrain of the vehicle covered for ten years and 100,000 miles, but routine maintenance is covered for the first three years of ownership or the first 36,000 miles. Hyundai is certainly saying "thank you" to those who purchase their new EV in the best way possible.
